After my dissertation is all finished, I have a growing list of books and topics to explore that I currently just don’t have time for. One of these is a growing area of scholarly inquiry known as food studies. Food is so everyday that we don’t think about it very often, and we don’t realize how much it influences every single thing. More on all of this later. So far I have written one article related to food studies specially, “Priorities: Money and Poverty, Michelle Obama, Food Deserts, and Geography.” I have also shared my recipe for salsa and grilled chicken.
Today, I wanted to share a few of my favorite meals with you.
El Chico’s double side salad with basil vinaigrette is awesome. Tortillas, chips and salsa are musts too.At Panera Bread I always get the Smoked Turkey Sandwich no onion, add ham, add cucumber, on ciabatta with two balsamic dressings on the side. Sometimes I get chips for the side, other times a sliced apple.Red Lobster’s double chicken breast dinner, no sauce and no marination, with a side salad can’t be beat. The vinaigrette dressing is perfect. Plus, lots of cheese biscuits with extra butter!The Cheesecake Factory is always a nice treat. I recommend the Buffalo Chicken Fingers, no buffalo, a small order of fries, and bread. They have the best chicken figures (be sure to order them “no buffalo”) in the world!Before you die, you must eat at Underwoods Cafeteria in Brownwood, Texas. It is worth an eight hour drive!
